Abrasives Materials of Vitrified Bond Silicon Carbide Aluminum Oxide Griniding Wheel:
Aluminum oxide and silicon carbide are the two main bench grinding wheel abrasives used in manufacturing. These abrasives precisely control the shape and physical properties of the abrasive grains.
 
1. Aluminum oxide is the most popular abrasive and is generally recommended for grinding most steels, annealed iron, malleable and ductile iron, and non-ferrous cast alloys.

2. White aluminum oxide is a highly refined aluminum oxide, this white abrasive has exceptionally fast and cool cutting and grinding properties, especially suitable for grinding operations on hardened steel or high-speed steel in various precision grinding.

3. Pink aluminum oxide is slightly harder and less brittle than white abrasives, while still maintaining its machinability characteristic. This is especially suitable for grinding wear-resistant, heat-sensitive tool steels.

There are two types of silicon carbide, black silicon carbide "C" and green silicon carbide "GC".

4. Black silicon carbide is very hard and more brittle than aluminum oxide. It is used for general grinding, heavy stuck drill, external cylindrical, centerless, internal cylindrical grinding, also for non-ferrous materials, cast iron, stainless steel and rough grinding applications.

5. Green silicon carbide is also hard and brittle. Suitable for hard, high-cooled cast iron, rolls, etc.

Installation Instructions

Safe Use of Aluminum Oxide Grinding Wheel for Bench Grinder

Before use:
1. Before starting the machine tool, check whether the protective device of the machine tool and the reset switches of various actions are adjusted and firm.
2. The protective cover used should cover at least half of the diameter of the grinding wheel.
3. After the grinding wheel is installed on the main shaft of the grinding machine, it must be idling, and the idling time should not be less than 5 minutes. When idling, the operator should stand in a safe position, and it is strictly forbidden to stand in front of the grinding wheel or in the tangential direction.

When using it:
1. It is strictly forbidden to use the side surface of the grinding wheel as the working surface to prevent the grinding wheel from being broken.
2. During grinding, it is forbidden to use the lever to push the workpiece to increase the pressure on the grinding wheel.
3. When grinding or dressing the grinding wheel, the amount of feed should be appropriate, and special dressing tools should be used to dress the grinding wheel. At the same time, protective equipment should be worn.
4. Before the grinding wheel stops rotating, the coolant should be turned off, and the grinding wheel should continue to rotate until the grinding fluid is exhausted, so as not to affect the balance performance of the grinding wheel.
5. It is forbidden to use grinding fluid that can damage the bond of the grinding wheel. It is not allowed to use coolant in places where the temperature is below 0 degrees Celsius.
